How does a custom perfume work?
You choose up to four top notes, four heart notes and four base notes, then the concentration and the bottle. We turn your choices into a formula, balance it so the notes arrive in the right order, blend it by hand in our atelier, and rest it in the cellar before it is filled. Your bottle carries its own formula number, so we can make it again.
How long will my perfume take?
Most custom perfumes leave us three to four weeks after you order. The blend rests in our cellar for about three weeks before it is chilled, filtered and filled. Blends built on oud or other resinous bases need up to six weeks, and the configurator tells you so before you order. The Maceration process page explains why the wait is worth it.
Can I try it before I buy a full bottle?
Yes, and we recommend it. Compose your blend and choose Order a sample: a 2 mL vial of it costs €12, whichever notes you choose. It is made exactly as the bottle would be, so what you wear for a week is what you will receive. If you order the bottle afterwards, we make it from the same formula.
