Mediterranean Citrus

Mediterranean Citrus is the scent of a white town at nine in the morning: shutters open, the sea already bright, a bowl of fruit on a stone table. It is the simplest thing we make, and we have rewritten it more often than anything else in the house.

Bergamot, lemon and mandarin arrive together and stay longer than citrus usually does, held up by neroli. Within the hour orange blossom and jasmine come through, never heavy, and the drydown is clean white musk on a thread of cedar.

An eau de toilette, deliberately. It is made to be sprayed generously and renewed at lunch, and it is at its best in warm weather and on linen. Four to five hours on skin, longer on a scarf.
