Verdant Garden

Verdant Garden smells of snapped stems. It is a green perfume in the old sense, the kind that used to be called a garden cologne, before green came to mean pale and sweet.

Galbanum and fig leaf open it, sharp and sappy, with bergamot for light. Lily of the valley, sage and geranium make a cool, leafy heart, and the base is mossy: vetiver and oakmoss softened with white musk.

Wonderful in spring and in rain. It is an eau de toilette and wears close after the first hour, so it is easy to wear to work. Five to six hours on skin.
